Great tips! I especially like the observation that "suddenly" is an attempt to build tension that the writer hasn't earned - nice way to put it.

Great tip, Bruce. I always do a search in Word for "just" and "only" when I've finished a manuscript. "Suddenly" I've managed to stay away from!
