Alexandra Diaz is a member of the class of 2K10. Her debut YA novel, Of All The Stupid Things, was just released by Egmont USA. I asked Alexandra to give me a summary of her novel and what inspired her to write it.
When a rumor starts circulating that Tara's boyfriend has been with one of the guy cheerleaders, the innuendo doesn't just hurt Tara. It marks the beginning of the end for three lifelong friends.
Tara is training for a marathon, but also running from her fear of abandonment by her father. Whitney Blaire seems to have everything, but an empty mansion and absentee parents leave her looking for her own value in the wrong places. And Pinkie has a compulsive need to mother everyone to make up for the mama she's never stopped missing. Then the new girl arrives in school and Tara starts to feel things she's never felt before for a girl. Can the girls' friendship survive when all the rules have changed?
What inspired me to write this book? It was a story that greatly intrigued me, and being written in three POVs, challenged me as well.
I can't wait to read it! Sounds fascinating.

I'm intriqued by the story line. I'll definitely have to read Of All the Stupid Things.

Alex is a wonderful writer. I'm very fortunate to be joining her in Coral Gables at Books & Books, March 2 at 7pm. She's going to read and sign at the greatest bookstore imaginable. Oh, and me, too...
