Yesterday, Adventures for Kids book store hosted a Five Star Book Launch for five local children's book authors.
Jody Frickes Shapiro, Barbara Jean Hicks, Greg Trine, Mary Hershey and Robin LaFever made us laugh, made us cry with joy and made us
cheer as they presented their newest books.
Barbara Jean Hicks introduced her latest book, The Secret life of Walter Kitty. A wonderful picture book full of laughs for parents and kids alike. Here is Barbara Jean is holding Walter Kitty and Miguel, the inspiration for the book.
Mary Hershey launched her novel with the irresistible title, The One Where the Kid Nearly Jumps to His Death and Lands in California. I can't wait to read it, now that I own an autograph copy.
My buddy Greg Trine celebrated the fourth book in his Melvin Beederman Superhero series, Terror in Tights. Hold on for another Melvin adventure, it is sure to bring you great laughs.
Jody Fickes Shapiro charmed us with her new picture book, Family Lullaby. The language is soft, lush and warm, the perfect book to read that little toddler to sleep.
I was happy to see Robin LaFever presenting Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos. I am right in the middle of this fabulous book.
It has action, it has adventure and it has the bright eleven year old Theodosia, who in 1906 shows London museum curators a thing or two about removing curses on ancient Egyptian artifacts. I love this book and I am biting at the bit for the sequel.
